Dental CleaningDuring a dental cleaning, your teeth are thoroughly cleaned and then examined by a dentist. If you’re wondering how you can prepare for your next dental cleaning so you get the most out of your appointment, we have a few helpful tips to offer.

  • Take Care of Your Teeth and Gums- This is one step you need to take well before the day of your dental cleaning arrives. To keep your gums and teeth in good shape, brush your teeth at least twice a day, floss once a day, and try to maintain a healthy diet that is devoid of too much sugar or carbonated soft drinks. By doing these things, you will be more likely to avoid common dental problems, like gingivitis and cavities. And remember, no matter how well you brush and floss the morning of your appointment, it can’t mask bad habits!
  • Write Down a List of Questions and Concerns- It’s natural to have questions and concerns about the health of your teeth and gums. To make sure you’re able to have your concerns addressed, make a list of your questions before the day of your dental appointment and bring the list with you when you come to our office.
  • Arrive Early- If you’re a new patient, it’s a good idea to arrive for your dental cleaning a few minutes early. This will give you plenty of time to fill out your past medical and dental history paperwork and prepare for your appointment.
