Dr. Daniel Sullivan
GENERAL DENTIST
Dr. Daniel Sullivan received his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Western Ontario and graduated with distinction. Before attending Western, he received his Bachelor of Science in Biology from Dalhousie University, 2 hours from where he grew up in New Brunswick. Dr. Sullivan takes pride in helping his patients achieve their aesthetic and functional needs, whatever they may be, and believes in a team-orientated approach that includes the patient’s wishes and input at the forefront. In his spare time, Daniel likes to golf, stay active at the gym, try new restaurants, and of course catch up on TV shows!
Dr. Hannah Seok
GENERAL DENTIST
Dr. Hanna Seok completed her Bachelor of Science at McMaster University and received her Doctor of Dental Surgery from Western University. She takes pride in optimizing patients’ dental experience through patient education, being attentive to patients’ individual requirements and, encouraging them to be proactive about their oral health care. Passionate about dentistry and non-profit work, Dr. Seok has provided volunteer dental care to underprivileged communities in Guatemala, Haiti, Mexico and, some First Nations reserves. She is very excited to be back in her hometown, Barrie, and serve the community.
Dr. Dickson Kong
GENERAL DENTIST
Dr. Dickson Kong graduated first class honors with distinction in Biology at York University, after which he continued his studies at the University of Western Ontario Dental school. He is a recipient of the General Medicine award and graduated with honors in 2016. He spent his first few years practicing in Kirkland Lake and Napanee. Dr. Kong is certified in nitrous and oral moderate sedation to provide the most comfortable dental experience for patients with dental anxiety. He is constantly trying to broaden his knowledge and skills in Dentistry by continuing his education and completing courses like implant training. His current area of interest is Invisalign and helping people achieve their dream smile. When he’s not practicing, Dr. Kong loves reading about the latest technology and gadgets, and trying new restaurants with his lovely wife, Tracy!

The high reviews of this dental practice are all well-earned. Everyone I encountered was terrific, from Tamanna, who handled my paperwork and a million questions, to Andrea, the hygienist who examined and cleaned my teeth with such care and patience that my anxiety was at an all-time low for dental visits, to Dr. Hanna, who was clearly excellent with anxious patients and who carefully explained everything necessary at a speed and using clear words that I could easily follow. (I normally handle all sorts of complex conversations every day, but in the past have struggled with anxiety clouding my hearing and rational thought once in the dentist’s chair.) So overall, my visit went extremely well, and I will feel quite comfortable returning for future assessments and treatment that might be required.

My visit was unbelievable…in a good way. Walked in, amazing greeting from the front desk, and was helped right away (talk about customer service)! Cass was my hygienist and was amazing—so delicate and thorough. I left with a brand new smile and will definitely be back. Northern Horizon is the place to be.

Great experience!! I needed to find a new dentist that accommodated with my hours of work and this place is awesome. Right from the time you walk in, the environment is very cozy and inviting. The staff was very helpful. They billed insurance company directly which was fantastic! Dr Hannah was amazing! Her assistant, Jen, was also very helpful and explained everything that was going to happen. No pain!!! Great first experience and I'm scheduled to return later this month.

I had a not-quite-emergency broken molar away from home. After reading reviews, I called here. They were able to fit me in within an hour. They explained that they didn’t have time for a full treatment but could do a temporary patch to get me through until I got home and could get the needed crown. Dentist and tech explained everything and treated me well. Price was very reasonable. Dentistry is never fun but I was very pleased.

I booked a teeth cleaning. I was told to do X-ray before cleaning. So just for cleaning purpose I should harm myself with unnecessary X-Rays(no inflammation and no pain)? So cleaning was denied unless I'll do X-Rays. Good luck guys! I refuse to do this just money grab procedure. I should admit though that Dr.Sullivan is really good!

It’s been awhile since I’ve been to a dentist but Northern Horizon Dental Barrie is definitely the best experience I’ve had. Very clean, professional, thorough and friendly. I will definitely be returning in the future and recommending to anyone that is looking for a new dental team.

Had a teeth cleaning booked for May 29, 2024. They said we need to do x-rays first, I say why? I just want a cleaning as I booked this several weeks back. They said we can't do the cleaning unless you have x-rays and the cost is $400.00. I had work down a few weeks back. Also have been going to this dentist for a few years now. I'm never ever ever coming back. And if your reading this review. Don't use this business. I called another dental business in the community and they said no problem and booked me in right away. This was a money grab thing and that should not sit well with anyone. ZERO STARS FOR THIS BUSINESS

Cozy and friendly environment with superb service. The hygienist I had was extremely personable and very gentle. Probably the best cleaning I’ve had in a very long time! Dr Hanna is a gem! Lovely staff! Highly recommended!

This team is incredible and I would highly recommended for both families with young kids or just for individual adults. From the quality of service to their customer support and the customer experience they provide they go above and beyond. They show empathy and have the services available for anybody in need. Excellent. It was my three-year-old’s first visit to the dentist and the hygienist was so fun and patient. Managed to get an entire cleaning and polishing done on her teeth. The dentist and rest of the staff were so kind and welcoming too. I would definitely recommend them.

I can not say good enough things about this dentist !!!
I had a tooth that was infected and making my face swell. I'm from near Ottawa and no dentists could see me . So when I came down to my mom's I called and not only did they see my THAT day they were able to get me in the day after to get my tooth fixed!!!
The dentist took the time he did not have to take to go over my x-rays and explain very well what the problem was !
Amazing dentist, amazing people !!! I'd honestly take the 4 hours trip to them anyday !!

I will NEVER go anywhere else, I became a Patient In 2022 after I broke a molar and even then Dr Kong was kind and very informative as well.

If you want to experience discrimination and the downside of favouritism, this is the dental office to come to. Gail (front office staff) was consistently unfriendly, unwelcoming and cold whenever I came for an appointment (I was made to feel that this could be due to how I "look") and is the prime reason I will not return to this practice for dental care.

I like Nothern Horizon Dental Barrie because its the only dentist place I have ever gone to. I am upset because when I was younger there were toys here. I loved playing with them and that's the only reason I liked it here. But now I come for the treasure box. Which got old fast. I hope you guys will bring back the toys. Please do. 😫🙏🙏💓😜

I have had very pleasant experiences EVERYTIME I see the folks here! They are accommodating and will work with patients who don’t have insurance. They have great air purification and can tell that they take covid seriously and their patients safety seriously. Would highly recommend! Dr. Hannah is the best!

I saw Dr Sullivan and my experience was very 👍 good.He genuinely cares for his patients, explains what is happening, maintains proper evidence of each tooth he looks at (surpirisingly not all dentists do). He has quality dental assistants/hygenists and overall a caring, knowledgeable and thorough dentist. No issues with his care I like how he has a conservative dental approach.

Hadn't been to a dentist in a long time. Then after moving to Barrie I went here. From the get go,
the front desk super nice. Then onto Christina who treated me with upmost respect while taking all my different pictures that were needed and was super nice. Then I had Dr Seok and she went out of her way to explain everything she was doing and answered a ton of questions and again was super friendly and professional. Then finally I had Chelsea who did a cleaning on me. Absolute sweetheart always checking if I was conformable and did a great job. So far from my 1st visit this is so far the best most well equiped and professional dental establishment I've ever been too. Highly recommend!!

Dr. Sullivan is the best dentist I have ever had. He explains everything to you and gives you the chance to make your own decisions on what options are available. The other people in the office are also terrific. They are really nice and friendly.

I went here today for a checkup for me and my toddler. The experience was the best we had from the phone conversation to the goodbyes. The entire staff made sure the whole process was easy and quick. My toddler was the first one to have his teeth checked. Chelsea explained everything to him Ina fun and easy to understand way and had him try out all the safe tools. By the time she was done with the demonstration he was excited to have her look at his teeth. It went flawless! When it was my turn, they had a treasure chest for him and Gayle at reception kept his so entertained he didn't want to leave. Dr. Hannah was thorough and professional and made is both feel comfortable. Highly recommend!

I had a great experience today at this dental office. I was worried about feeling pain and discomfort during my cleaning appointment, but thankfully the hygienist Chelsea was very gentle and careful with my teeth. I’m glad that I now have a office that I am very comfortable getting dental services at. 10/10 recommend! Will be coming again 🙂

Amazing!! 10/10 would recommend. From the moment I walked in the receptionist Gayle and Angela were so welcoming and really helped ease my nerves from the start! The hygienist Chelsea was truly amazing she was so gentile and my teeth feel so clean it was great! Dan did a check up and was so thorough. I have never had a dentist look at every tooth like Dan did it was It was phenomenal. They really showed me all the areas in my mouth and did not make me feel like they just wanted my money. GREAT office!

What started as a great practice turned around in the last 2 -3 years. All they want is money. I complained about a problem with a tooth and they did 3 different teeth before getting to the now completely damaged tooth. New dentist every time has to say something with the latest one giving both me and my wife the same excuse of why a filling came out claiming it’s not they’re fault. Find any other dentist around and you’ll do better. There is just to much to complain about.

I didn't have a dentist or insurance when I found this place through a friend of my moms, so I figured they were worth a try. They fixed a cavity on the spot when I went in thinking I had a hole in a tooth and needed it pulled, and worked with me about payments
Now that my insurance has kicked in, today I had three of my four remaining wisdom teeth out and it went wonderfully. I was very nervous as I don't love the dentist but they're all so friendly and accommodating. I will 100% be back in the future for the rest of my dental needs. Wonderful people.

Friendly and competent staff. Had a cavity filled on my most recent visit. The procedure was well explained in advance and the process was painless and as explained. Definitely recommend Northern Horizon Dental Barrie to anyone looking for a dentist.

Everyone is great and very welcoming. Dan is amazing, he is kind, gentle and very thorough. A trip to the dentist can often feel overwhelming and stressful, but they provide friendlyness and reassurance that creates a calm and relaxing experience . I highly recommend 👌

Best dentist I have ever had.. had a crown today and they use a Digital Crown machine and make it right on site .. so you only need one visit for a crown .. staff is amazing and caring, I would recommend everyone to come to this clinic..

Cassidy the hygenist who cleaned my teeth today was excellent. She was very through and didn't rush cleaning my teeth She was Friendly. I would highly recommend her.
Jen popped in to say Hi n I always enjoy seeing her. She is Dr Sullivan's Assistant.
Gail who is the office manager is very efficient and friendly. She works the front desk. Always have a good chat with her.

So unprofessional. The assistant with red hair has a very loud dirty mouth and can be heard cussing and using inappropriate language from other rooms. The lady Anna at reception is extremely rude and does not even smile or use a friendly tone. And the lady dentist seems like she has no clue what she’s doing and asks even the assistants what to do at times. The only good thing about this place is their hygienists and Dr. Sullivan, as they have always been great and friendly. Save your money and go somewhere else

Dr Sullivan and his Staff are the best ! To be honest for 50 years I have “ HATED “ the dentist just despised them!! Since I’ve seen Dr. Sullivan it’s a “ PLEASURE “ seeing him!! He’s so patient and gentle it makes the visit seem like a cakewalk !! Any other dentist would of been awful but like I said Dr. Sullivan is such a great dentist the whole appointment is pain free and just a joy to experience! Just wanted to address a concern, that I have from my last teeth cleaning appointment.
I felt a bit rushed during my treatment, the time spent does not relate well from when I was taken in for my appointment at 6:12pm and was out by 6:40pm and my receipt signed out by 6:50pm. I am pretty sure that the hygienist( that treated me) is competent and is a great hygienist, but, I just wanted to bring it into your notice. Because I never had cleaning that fast before.
I am still going to be coming to your wonderful clinic in future.
