Keeping your teeth and gums healthy requires more than just brushing and flossing diligently. To maintain the health of your smile, you also need to have your teeth cleaned and examined on a regular basis. At Northern Horizon Dental, we generally recommend coming to see our dental hygienists every six months for a dental cleaning.
Our dental hygienists will get rid of plaque and tartar that may have built up on your teeth since your last visit. Then, we will polish and floss your teeth. However, our dental hygiene process involves so much more than this. When you come in to see us, we will also examine your teeth for signs of decay and gum disease. If we believe that an issue needs further treatment, we will discuss all of your options with you and develop a customized treatment plan.
At Northern Horizon Dental, we recommend bringing your children in to see us for a dental visit once their first tooth breaks through or after they reach their first birthday, whichever comes first. Making proper dental care a habit at a young age can benefit your child well into their adult years.
We realize that life can be busy, and finding time to come and see your dental hygienist may be hard to do. For this reason, we maintain hours that are designed to work with you and your family’s unique time constraints. To schedule your next dental cleaning and to find out more about our convenient hours, give us a call at Northern Horizon Dental.
