Dr. Dusa Sorichetti (BDS, MSc, MEng)
Dr. Sorichetti completed her Bachelor of Science in Biology degree at the University of Waterloo and then went on to complete two Master’s degrees (Master of Science followed by Master of Biomedical Engineering, University of Western Ontario). Dr. Sorichetti’s research findings of how salivary proteins can be used to predict and control oral diseases resulted in multiple first author publications in top dental journals. Dr. Sorichetti was given the opportunity to study dentistry in Australia at James Cook University. She enjoyed the sunshine as she completed clinical rotations at three different dental clinics across Queensland. Dr. Sorichetti’s personal dental philosophy is built entirely around a patient-centred approach, where she considers patients’ best interests and designs patient-specific dental treatment for patients of all ages. In her spare time, Dr. Sorichetti enjoys travelling with her husband and spending time with her family.
Dr. Steve Chang (HBSc, DDS, MS)
Dr. Steve Chang, H.B.Sc. D.D.S., graduated with distinction from the University of Western Ontario (UWO) with his Honours Bachelor of Science Degree in Genetics. Dr. Chang is also a graduate of the School of Dentistry at UWO where he earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree. While Dr. Chang continues to expand his education in all aspects of dentistry, he is especially interested in the study, diagnosis and treatment of craniofacial pain, which includes temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders, sleep disorders and head and neck pain. Having just completed his Masters of Science Degree in Craniomandibular Disorders and Orofacial Pain from the Tufts University in Boston. Patient care is something that Dr. Chang is dedicated to and as a result has a strong passion in many different fields of dentistry. Some of which include sedation dentistry, implant dentistry, orthodontics, endodontics and dental treatment planning. After several years of practicing family and cosmetic dentistry in the Greater Toronto Area, Dr. Chang purchased Northern Horizon Dental in South Barrie. Dr. Chang, currently resides in Vaughan, Ontario, with his wife Sarah and their daughters Emma, Isabelle and Sophie Rose.
Dr. Daniel Sullivan (HBSc, DDS)
Dr. Daniel Sullivan received his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Western Ontario, and graduated with distinction. Before attending Western, he received his Bachelor of Science in Biology from Dalhousie University, 2 hours from where he grew up in New Brunswick. Dr. Sullivan takes pride in helping his patients achieve their aesthetic and functional needs, whatever they may be, and believes in a team-orientated approach that includes the patient’s wishes and input at the forefront. In his spare time, Daniel likes to golf, stay active at the gym, try new restaurants, and of course catch up on TV shows!
Dale Gallant (Operations Manager)
Dale joins our team as our operations manager. He has extensive experience in the dental industry as well as many years in the accounting field. Dale enjoys working with a well round cohesive team and found a great fit with the members of the Northern Horizon Dental Team. During his down time, he enjoys motorcycles, sports and spending time with friends and family. While in our office drop by and say hello.
Jessica Diniz (Practice Manager)
Jessica is a graduate of the Dental Assisting program at Everest College. Jessica brings over 10 years of dental experience as a Dental Assistant, Dental Administrator, Treatment Co-ordinator and Office Management to Northern Horizon Dental. When not at the office, Jessica enjoys traveling and spending time with her husband, daughter, family, and friends.
Juan Lacayo (Implant Coordinator)
Juan is originally from Guatemala but now calls Canada home. He recently joined our team as patient coordinator. Juan has been working in the customer service industry for several years and is proud to say he is able to serve in both English and Spanish. You can be assured that you will always be greeted with a smile and a welcoming demeanor. Juan is excited to be part of such a vibrant team and is looking forward to learning many new aspects of the dental industry to be able to provide you with the utmost in customer service. In his spare time, he enjoys camping, spontaneous trips, walking his dog and spending time with friends and family.
Stephanie Ledvinka (Dental Receptionist)
Stephanie joins our team as dental receptionist. She comes to our office with 11 years dedicated excellent customer service experience. Stephanie went to Canadore College where she graduated from the Business Administration and Human Resources program Stephanie brings a infectious smile and welcoming demeanor to our office. In her free time Stephanie enjoys food and being active.
Bailey McLeod (Dental Assistant)
Bailey graduated from Georgian College in 2016 as a level II dental assistant and is a proud member of the Ontario Dental Assistants Association. Bailey enjoys the oral surgery side of dentistry and loves assisting in the creation of healthy smiles. She is committed to continuing education courses and seminars to stay up to date with the latest advancements that the world of dentistry has to offer. In her free time, Bailey enjoys traveling and spending time with family and friends!
Jennifer Kokko (Dental Assistant)
Jennifer graduated from Georgian College in 2015 as a certified dental assistant. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her 2 children, family and friends.
Melissa Bly (Dental Hygienist)
Melissa graduated in 2002 with honours from the Durham College Dental Hygiene program. She is a member of the College of Dental Hygienists of Ontario (CDHO), the Canadian Dental Hygiene Association (CDHA), and the Ontario Dental Hygienists Association (ODHA). Melissa enjoys working most with children and those that are fearful of dental treatment, helping them to have a positive, comfortable experience. She continues to take courses to learn the most current dental procedures to provide patients with the highest level of care and maintain their optimal oral health. While not at work, Melissa enjoys time with her husband and two kids, playing hockey, and working with various charities to raise funds for local groups.
Marjorie Giordanella (Dental Hygienist)
Marj graduated in 2007 from the dental hygiene program at Cambrian College. he has over 10 years of experience as a dental hygienist. Marj has a desire to promote a positive dental experience and brings with her a gentle yet thorough approach to helping patients achieve their optimal oral health. She enjoys participating in continuing education courses to keep her knowledge and skills current, and to provide patients with the best care. Outside of work, she enjoys spending her time with her husband and their young children.
Shelby Towell (Dental Hygienist)
Shelby graduated from Georgian College in December 2017 with an outstanding achievement award. Shelby is a member of the CDHO (College of Dental Hygienist of Ontario) and CDHA (Canadian Dental Hygienist Association). Shelby enjoys the oral pathology side of dental hygiene and difficult cases. With her knowledge, skill, and judgement Shelby enjoy’s educating and working with everyone to help strive to achieve the best possible oral hygiene care. She continues to further her education by going to seminars, lectures, and courses to be up to date with the current dental procedures. Outside of work, Shelby enjoy’s working out, playing softball, eating thai food, hanging out with friends and visiting home!
