You probably already realize that in order to maintain the health of your teeth and your gums, you should come in and see us at Northern Horizon Dental for a routine checkup and cleaning every six months. However, there are some dental problems that should be taken care of even before your next scheduled appointment.
- Tooth Pain- Once one of your teeth starts to hurt, it’s incredibly hard to ignore it. When a toothache hits, it’s a good idea to schedule an appointment with our office right away. However, keep in mind that even if the pain subsides after a day or two, you should still be seen by a dentist.
- Changes in Your Gums- If your gums ever become extremely red and swollen, or if they bleed when you brush or floss, you should be seen at our office as soon as possible. When it comes to dental problems, issues with your gums indicate that you might have gingivitis, which, if not treated properly, can lead to periodontal disease.
- Your Teeth Have Become Abnormally Sensitive- It’s not uncommon for your teeth to feel uncomfortable when you eat something very hot or cold on occasion. However, if this sensitivity is too much too bear or it seems like it became worse all of a sudden, you should make an appointment with our office.
Although these dental problems all warrant the attention of a dental professional, keep in mind that if something about your teeth or gums concerns you, it’s best to get it checked out. If you’d like to schedule an appointment with our office, contact us at Northern Horizon Dental today.
